The Importance of Water Consumption

Did you know that water makes up 60% to 70% of your body?

Wow!

Recent studies continue to show that staying hydrated plays an important role in boosting your metabolism, which fuels your calorie-burning machine.

Proper hydration does the following: 

  • increases heart rate

  • boosts metabolism

  • increases the efficiency of your energy systems

  • decreases and helps regulate appetite

  • dilutes sodium retention which prevents bloating

  • promotes healthy skin, your biggest organ

  •  increases blood volume so more oxygen gets into muscles

Dehydration – “Deprivation of vitality” EEK!

Water helps deliver nutrients to our organs and tissues, and helps in the removal of toxins and waste from the body. It also helps regulate body temperature.

Dehydration causes the following: 

  • increased wrinkles

  • bags under the eyes

  • headaches

  • chapped lips

  • constipation

  • lethargy

  • mood swings
