Is procrastination getting you down? I got the solution!

July 25, 2022

Do you ever have those days when you just don’t feel like doing anything?

That you feel is, if you’re gonna hear one more positive statement and some cheery expression and it’s going to make you fly off the handle?

That maybe this positive psychology stuff is for the birds??

I hear you!

Because, gosh darn it, there are some times when we just don’t feel like doing anything! And this weekend was one of those times for me!

And that’s exactly why I wanted to talk to you about procrastination because if I haven’t experienced it, and found out ways to overcome it, then what kind of high-performance coach am I? Ha ha! 😁

First, I want you to know that you are not alone. That even the highest performers feel as though they are stuck and don’t know where to begin in certain aspects of their lives.

Check out these three tips below that you can apply to help push through your resistance and truly live a magnificent week, even when you don’t feel like it! 👇

1. Create a project plan. Feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to start? The mind needs a path in order to move forward. Close your eyes and sit with what you want to achieve and imagine step-by-step how you would approach completing the task. Then write down what those steps are and start taking action one step at a time to complete it.

It’s not enough to want to do something; we must gift the mind with a plan in order to attain it. Give yourself grace and put a pencil on the paper and write it out. Remember your imagination is your magic wand to success.

2. Visualize and affirm: once again use your imagination to picture yourself moving through all the steps to attain your said goal. Imagine what it will feel like to not only finish the project but move through all the different areas. Embrace the satisfaction of completion and the pride that you will feel when you have succeeded. The more you can imagine, the more real and probable it will become. Practice makes perfect and keep leaning in!

3. Create social accountability. Share your goals and dreams with others. I am the first one to admit that this was a challenge for me when I started to do it as I was a solo entrepreneur for so many years. But now that I have a team around me and a support system in place, nothing is more important than me sharing my goals and dreams so that we can all move forward together. And nothing drives a goal more than putting it out there and having other people hold you to the fire to get it done. Commit to your best self and allow others to hold you up to that standard. It takes great courage to ask for help. Now is a wonderful opportunity for you to do just that. 😊

Exciting news!! My New to the Street interview releases on Saturday, 30th July 2022 at 6:00 pm EST on Bloomberg! 😁

It has been an incredible experience and I can’t wait to share this interview with you. Your support means the world!

Cheering you on, and encouraging you in all that you hope for!
